UK acts at BC06 too routine based???

No offence to any crews out there………, but I felt that a lot of the UK acts at BC06 were too routine based. MTV styled street dance acts seemed to dominate the event which was originally meant to be about ‘hip hop dance theatre. Does anyone out there feel me???

yeah, i agree. but this also raises the discussion of how hiphop dance is seen by lots of people. i’d rather see something more abstract (can’t remember but BC 05 had a french group – amazing), and look at how they’ve used the hipho vocab than watch set routines. just me though. that’s the hook to get young people in i think, its up to creative tutors to push it more. like watching it, but not as much as last year please.

2006 was so different to what I expected – I’m a Champs year on year bboy. Saturday had a kids theatre going on which, while not bad, I felt disappointed cos it had bits of gymnastics & no one going to the ground bustin moves & routines like street. I left at 8.45pm confident i wasn’t going to miss anything.
Sunday picked me up when Swiss Deep Trip caned the floor with the real deal we all came for. BBoy is about representin & demonstratin how ya feel through your art. Over all was dissapointed cos I came to be entertained by by powermoves, steps, poppin & lockin shows with a chance represent in an open circle – aint that what its all about?? (wrong show huh? Will it be different next time?)

In my opinion all crews are talented in a BIG way, but I think they should give other NEW troupes with a lot of talent out there to get into the show….
TALENT and good choreogpraphy knoledge is not only done by known choreographers…there is a lot of talent out there…give them a chance!!

Totally agree ‘T’ they were missed…..think people dont see how good of their stuff is, that show for me was amazing!!!

i disagree with the comment about “MTV style streetdance” some of the choreo is the new style of hip-hop (street)
maybe breakin con. need to choose the best ones as appose to any group might give the show more variety……?
i see watt u mean at the same time though!

Last year Franck II Louise and Frank Ejara blew me away with there class performance. Hope they are around this year!

Dance2xs are performing i advice everyone to go and see that i bet you it wil be one of the favourites!!
If you havnt seen them trust me you will not be dissapointed definately the best uk act that day……you wait and see!

iv been to breakin’ convention once and im going back again this year i think its so good. but me and my dance group are looking to perform there 1 year how do we get there if thats possible can some one contact the email address above with some details please we would be very thankfull

I wanted to say that I think Salah is one of the best break dancer on the planet today . With all of his abilities to perform his own style in dance, he has the most incredible style of all . All that I wanted to know is where did he get his inspiration of learning every steps there is and why ? Does he have any inspiration of any other performers to become this most talented artist ?
